The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Lead-Safe Certification program is required by the Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule. Designed to lower the risk of lead contamination from home renovation activities, all firms that perform renovations must be trained by EPA-approved providers. Since 1909, the Good Housekeeping Seal protects consumers—and we’ve earned it consecutively for 10 years. To earn the seal, products must undergo review from scientists and engineers at the Good Housekeeping Institute. The protection promises a refund or replacement for defective products within two years of purchase.
